Enter Shangri-La

Terry DelMonico of Future Affairs Productions, Providence RI, USA trimmed out these spiraling RMS Builder columns to suggest a snow covered mountain pass leading into the hidden valley of Shangri-La. Giant icicles, along with strings of miniature Christmas lights and colored flood lights, created a winter ambiance to the mountain pass which became the entrance into the Final Night Party at the International Balloon Arts Convention (IBAC) 2003 in Chicago, IL, USA.
The photo to the right shows a honeycomb graph paper models used to plan the spiral columns. Most designs that you make out of sheets of graph paper can be reproduced out of sheets of RMS and balloons on a larger scale.
