1983 Fantasy Flowers

The "Fantasy Flowers" below are among the very first anywhere.  They are the creation of Graham Rouse in 1983.   In these original Fantasy Flowers the internal structuring (clothes hanger wire) was in the stems of the flowers rather than the flower petals.   The #260 balloon stems were sealed to retain the air pressure and massaged to take on the elegant sculptured form.  The spiraling form of the stems and the strength of the internal wire enalbed the stem to also serve as the base for the flowers.  The term "Fantasy Flowers" was coined in 1985 by Graham Rouse.
